The Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong competence in quantitative methodology. Methods training is one of the hallmarks of our department and the ideal candidate will be able to teach quantitative methodology to an interdisciplinary student body. The department is dedicated to the critical study of globalization, urbanization, the sociology of cultural politics, the study of social networks, and the analysis of social transformation. We particularly encourage candidates who relate to any of these fields and who are committed to critical social sciences.
The job provides excellent research opportunities at an intellectually vivid and stimulating environment. The department is dedicated to interdisciplinary research and is known for its highly motivated and diverse students and faculty.
The Department is an integrated department of Sociology and Social Anthropology. It is accredited in the US, has 40 students pursuing an MA degree in two different programs, and an almost equal number of PhD candidates.
Compensation:
Compensation is commensurate with experience. We offer a competitive salary, as well as a dynamic and international academic environment.
Teaching load is comparable to that of research universities.
