On the other hand we have the rapid ageing of humanity which is perhaps the most salient and dynamic aspect of modern demography. These two closely related global trends already have and will have significant implications for human development. This means the necessity to meet the needs of the growing group of people\u00a0 with specific requirements. According to the World Health Organization experts, and not only their opinion, the physical and social environments are key determinants\u00a0 of whether people\u00a0 can remain healthy, independent and autonomous long into their old age. There are\u00a0 many possible ways in which the built environment (private and public spaces) may influence the health and well-being of older residents.<br \/>\nIn\u00a0 this\u00a0 scope\u00a0 we\u00a0 can\u00a0 observe\u00a0 the\u00a0 growing\u00a0 in\u00a0 popularity\u00a0 of\u00a0 attempts\u00a0 to\u00a0 combine\u00a0 knowledge\u00a0 from\u00a0 the\u00a0 social sciences (especially sociology) with the knowledge from the field of design. Contemporary\u00a0 design\u00a0 proves\u00a0 that\u00a0 it\u00a0 does\u00a0 not\u00a0 avoid\u00a0 responsibility\u00a0\u00a0 for\u00a0 the\u00a0 import_ant\u00a0 challenges\u00a0 of\u00a0 the demographics\u00a0 problems\u00a0 and\u00a0 looking\u00a0 for\u00a0 innovative\u00a0 solutions\u00a0 for\u00a0 built\u00a0 environment.\u00a0 We\u00a0 are\u00a0 waiting\u00a0 for interesting examples of theoretical and practical implementations of social answers for challenges of aging. Our interest is to create the opportunity for interdisciplinary discussion on the issue of designing private and public spaces with special focus on elderly needs &#8211; what nowadays is worth presenting and promoting in every aspect.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>We plan to publish a peer-reviewed book with Speakers&#8217; articles, how we did it after last ESA Congress:<\/strong> <em>Drafts From Sociology of Design.
